Amouage is the prestigious maison from Oman for luxury fragrances, that was created when, in 1983, the Sultanate of Oman decided to officially restore the ancient Arab perfumery culture, once glorious and incomparable, then lapsed and forgotten. Amouage, term purely conceptual with a French sound, is derived from the Arabic expression "Amway" (waves) with the French "amour" (love) in order to suggest the context of brand image: the "waves of emotion".
