After six years of preparation, the result is a powder which is then soaked in cold water. Finally, a steam distillation produces the essence of Iris, also known as butter, provided that the chemical follows the steps of a moderate heating.
Once distilled, this creamy substance turns into a priceless treasure: the absolute. Eight long years of complex processes are needed to extract a liter of iris absolute from forty tons of roots. It is explained the scarcity of this aristocratic fragrance in perfume creations today. The magic of a flower that blends with vetiver, bergamot, cedar wood, narcissus, geranium and moss give us the brilliance of Iris Wood.

Because of its scarcity, the osmanthus is rarely used. So far we have been deprived of its olfactory beauty as its use in aromatic creations is limited to very restricted quantities.
Native from China, this flower only travels in traditional porcelain pots, although you can see its presence in a garden of the French Riviera. The tree is sensitive to cold and its seeds germinate only after two years of gestation. The most perfumed species of the osmanthus are also the most fragile. The flowers bloom in autumn and their fragrance gets straight to the hearts of Chinese people, experiencing a strong sense of nostalgia. The poetic refinement of osmanthus is represented by a legend in which Wu Gang, the giant, driven by jealousy, repeatedly tries to eradicate osmanthus because of its sheer and floral fragrance.
