Philosykos is an ode to the fig forests of Greece. Created by Olivia Giacobetti, this is a very green fig - a fig about to be mature. The opening is sharp for the presence of harsh freshness of the leaves, and then the fig itself comes into play - sweet enough to tease, but not overwhelm. Shiny green leaves and succulent fruit are interwoven with a hint of dried wood and a bit of rich earth. You get the perception not only of the whole tree, but entire copse - wood, earth, sky, the sun of the Mediterranean that flatter the sweetness of the fruit while it matures. Many superlatives have been used to describe this fragrance over the years and it deserves them all. Outstanding.
