Sotirio Bulgari,
descended from an ancient family of Greek silversmiths and company founder, made
precious objects in silver. In the late nineteenth
century, Sotirio arrived in Italy and in 1884 opened his first shop in via Sistina in
Rome. In 1905, together with his sons Costantino and
Giorgio, he opened the jewelry of Via Condotti, which still represents the
symbol of the Bulgari family store.
In the early twentieth century the
two brothers developed a deep interest and gained considerable experience in the
field of precious stones, jewelry and watches. This allowed them to gradually
replace the guidance of his father. The period immediately following the Second
World War marked an important change in the history of Bulgari. George and
Constantine decided to drift away from the rules imposed by the French goldsmith
tradition to create their own unique style, inspired by the Greek-Roman
classicism, the Italian Renaissance goldsmith and the dictates of the RomanSchool of the nineteenth century. In the '50s and '60s, the bold and
innovative Nulgari style conquered the celebrity jet set and the world of
cinema.
Over the years, Bulgari reaches its
prestige and reputation in various fields.
Bulgari Parfums creates perfumes
with the same expertise and excellence that characterize propensity in jewelry.
In 1992 created its first
fragrance, Eau parfumée au Thé Vert, shortly followed by ten other fragrances
that get a huge success. The following year Bulgari founded the Bulgari Parfums
in Neuchâtel Switzerland, to manage the creation and production of fragrances. |
