Comme des Garcons is a Japanese fashion house founded by designer Rei Kawakubo in Tokyo in 1969 and has approximately 200 stores worldwide.
Comme des Garcons, during the seventies, becomes a success women's fashion brand, adding to its production even menswear in 1978. In 1981 Comme des Garcons collection debuts in Paris, attracting great attention of the media, and distinguishing by being monochromatic and asymmetrical.
Among the historic collaborationa of Rei Kawakubo, some as Junya Watanabe an, more recently, Tao Kurihara after the experience with Comme des Garcons, have created their own brands of fashion. In addition, over the years Comme des Garcons has worked with several major apparel companies, to create exclusive collections. Remember Levi's, Lacoste, Fred Perry, The North Face, Nike, Inc., Moncler and more recently H&M.
Comme des Garcons also produces a line of unisex fragrances that, under the spirit of the company, present themselves in a totally unconventional way. The first fragrance, Comme Des Garcons has been placed on the market in 1994. In 1998 was launched Odeur 53, defined by the same company as "anti-perfume".
The Boutique Comme des Garcons are in London, Paris, New York, Berlin, Beijing, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and Fukuoka. Paris also has a perfumery Comme des Garcons.
